Getting to Crete from Athens
By Plane (Recommended)
Flying into Heraklion (HER) or Chania (CHQ) via Athens is the most convenient option, with Heraklion typically offering lower fares. Both airports are approximately a one-hour drive from the venue and nearby accommodations.
By Sea
If you prefer to travel by sea, overnight ferries run directly from Athens to Heraklion.
Departure Port: Athens (Port of Piraeus)
Arrival Port: Heraklion Port, Crete
Crossing Time: ~8.5 to 9.5 hours (overnight ferries typically depart around 9:00 PM and arrive at 6:30 AM)
Main Operators: Minoan Lines, Blue Star Ferries, and ANEK Lines
Tip: Booking a private cabin is highly recommended for a restful sleep during the overnight crossing.
Accommodations
Staying in Rethymno City
For guests who want a livelier city experience, we recommend staying in Rethymno. This coastal city is famous for its remarkably preserved 16th-century Venetian Old Town and is only a 15–20 minute drive from our venue, Agreco Farm.
Rethymno offers a fantastic range of accommodations to fit every budget, from boutique hotels nestled in the Old Town to private villa rentals.
Shuttle Service: We will be providing a shuttle bus to and from Rethymno on the wedding day so you won't have to worry about transportation!

For a peaceful getaway closer to Agreco Farm, explore the private villas located in the surrounding countryside and nearby villages.

Getting Around: You will need to manage your own travel to and from the venue. Local taxis are readily available, but please plan ahead and pre-book your rides for the wedding day.
